Please post your journal entry for this week here. Make sure that you are giving a summary of your article in the first paragraph. It should be 4 to 6 sentences long and provide the reader with the main ideas of your story. Don't forget to include a second paragraph about geography. You should be able to relate your story to one of the five themes of geography: place, location, region, movement, and human-environmental interaction. Don't forget to tell me how it relates...EXPLAIN! Like always, if you need help finding your article, or if you need help making a connection, raise your hand and I would be glad to help you.

This article is about Beitian’s Prince Charles leaving Afganistan after previously unannoucing two-day visit there. It also talks about how he vistied other cities: Lashkar Gah and Kabul. Finally it talks about how he visited Gen. Stanley McChrystal the top Genral in Afghanistan. That is what my article is about.
My article relates to all the themes of geography but the one I am going to focuse on is Location. It relates to absolute location because it names specific places in the world. The names are Lashkar Gah, Britian, Kabul, and Afganistan. That is how is relates to the five themes of geography.

U.S. airlines cancel Europe flights, CNN
    http://www.cnn.com/2010/TRAVEL/04/15/volcano.domestic.airlines/index.html

This Article is about how Europe flights got cancelled. All American citizens who want to fly to Europe have been cancelled and will be rebooked. The flights were cancelled because United Kingdom has closed the airspace. So the people who have booked their flights that day will have to be rebooked.
This article can be Movement and Location. The location on this is the United States and Europe. It‘s about the flights not being able to go to Europe because of the UK Closed the airspace. The Movement in this article is when the planes fly. You can’t fly a plane without Movement.

Myanmar calls fatal blasts a terror attack
My article is about a terroist attack in Myanmar. It happened during a New Year’s celebration takeing place in Myanmar. At leased 20 people have died from the bomb explosion. The hospital said that the government said only 8 had died and 90 were wounded. That is what my article is about.
The theme of geography this article relates to is place. The reason it goes with place is because it takes place in Myanmar. This place is located in central Aisa. That is how it realates to place.

  6. This is not an appropriate use of the theme movement. When you mention location, you should make reference to absolute or relative location. I don't think you did that.

  7. Diego,
Place and location are not the same. Please look them up and try to understand the difference. If, after you look them up yourself you still are not sure, ask me and I would be happy to try and help you.
